RIFLES & EQUIPMENT FOR LOAN
A limited number of M1 Rifles and M1 Carbines as well as
shooting coats, gloves, and mats will be available for loan at no charge.
Juniors and ladies have priority for M1 carbines.
ENTRIES & REGISTRATION
- ELIGIBILITY: This
event is open to any U.S. Citizen over 16 years old. All competitors must
be familiar with their firearm, range safety rules and match
procedures. THIS EVENT IS NOT FOR FIRST TIME EVER SHOOTERS.
- ENTRIES LIMITED: Entries
are limited to the first 105 PAID ENTRIES.
- GARAND MATCH ENTRY
FEES: Prepaid entries; Adults $35, U.S. Armed Forces $30, Juniors
$15, includes 55 rounds of ammunition and a souvenir hat or T-shirt. Post
entries add $5.00.
- FOREIGN MILITARY
RIFLE MATCH: Prepaid entries $20. Post entries $25. Shooters must
provide their own ammunition, stripper clips or magazines.
- CANCELLATIONS: A
full refund will be given if notice is received prior to the match or in
the event the match is canceled.
- REGISTRATION: Advanced
registration is encouraged. Entries close June 1 and September 28.
Registration will be confirmed if self addressed stamped envelope or
e-mail address is provided. Competitors may register the morning of the
match after the pre-registered competitors are squadded and pay an
additional $5.00 post entry fee in cash. Make checks payable to PRSC.

U.S. SERVICE RIFLES ALLOWED FOR THE GARAND MATCH
- U.S. Rifle, cal .30 M1(all
versions but not glass sighted)
- U.S. Rifle, cal .30 M1903
Springfield (all versions but not glass sighted)
- U.S. Rifle, cal .30 M1917
Enfield.
- U.S. Rifle, cal .30 M1941
Johnson.
- u.s. Carbine, cal. .30 M1.
FOREIGN MILITARY RIFLES
- Any safe and legal center
fire bolt action or semiautomatic rifle that is or was issued by foreign
governments including domestic and foreign copies. Rifles must be equipped
to accept 5 round stripper clips or be equipped with 2 detachable
magazines.
MODIFICATIONS
- Modifications that cannot be
documented as "as issued" will be disallowed for awards.
- No match models will be
allowed.
- No heavy barrels
- No glass bedded stocks
- All triggers must weigh at
least 41/2 pounds.
MATCH CONDITIONS
- No Alibis (refires) allowed
for rifle or ammunition malfunctions.
- No spotting scopes allowed
during Rapid Fire.
- All shooters will act as
target operators.
- Current NRA, CMP and PRSC
rules will apply.
- Only cal .30 M2 Ball and M1
Carbine ammunition that is issued on the range will be allowed in the
Garand Match.
- Hearing and eye protection
are mandatory for all personnel on the range during firing.
- There will be experienced
competitors on each firing point on the firing line to instruct, score and
assist shooters.
COURSE OF FIRE, GARAND MATCH CMP COURSE B
- STAGE 1:
Prone Slow Fire, 5 sighting shots and 20 shots for record in a time limit
of 25 minutes.
- STAGE 2:
Standing to Prone Rapid Fire, 10 shots in 70 seconds.
- STAGE 3: Standing
to Sitting or Kneeling Rapid Fire, 10 shots in 60 seconds.
- STAGE 4: Standing
Slow Fire, 10 shots in 10 minutes.
- All firing will be at 200
yards on the NRA SR (short range) target.
AWARDS AND CATEGORIES
- OPEN: Any
shooter holding an NRA High Power Classification of Sharpshooter or
higher.
- MARKSMAN: Any
shooter holding an NRA High Power Classification of Marksman.
- TYRO: Any
shooter that does not hold an NRA Rifle Classification.
- SENIOR: Any
Tyro over 60 years old.
- SENIOR VETERAN: Any
Tyro WWII or Korean War veteran.
- VETERAN:
Any other Tyro U.S. Armed Forces veteran.
- JUNIOR: Any
Tyro under 20 years old.
- SERVICE:
Any Tyro U.S. Armed Force member IN UNIFORM.
- LADY: Any
female competitor.
- RIFLE TYPE:
High scoring Semi Auto, Bolt Action and Carbine.
- FOREIGN MILITARY
RIFLE: High scoring foreign military rifle.
- SPECIAL AWARD:
For the most authentic WWI, WWII or Korean War USA or USMC uniform.
- All awards will be trophies.
One award per competitor.
- All competitors desiring to
will receive a certificate of participation from the CMP.
FOOD & BEVERAGES
- BREAKFAST: A
light breakfast will be available on the range.
- LUNCH: Will
be available on the range.
- BEVERAGES: Hot
and cold beverages including coffee, tea, coco, soda and drinking water
will be available.
DIRECTIONS TO RANGE
LIE to exit 69, turn North (left) at exit on Wading River Road
about 4 miles to Grumman Blvd (chain link fence on North East corner and sign
to farm stand), turn East (right) on Grumman Blvd about 2.7 miles to club
entrance (sign on right) before RR tracks. Enter gate and turn right on dirt
road to rifle ranges. DRIVE SLOW! Bumpy, winding, one
lane road with blind curves.
